What's stored, and where.
Short version: your progress and your gig records stay on your device. Stripe handles payment. No ad trackers. Google Analytics counts visits on the home page and the free guides only, never inside lessons, tools or the Gig Ledger app.
Visit stats
The home page and the free guides use Google Analytics to count visits: which pages people read, how they found the site (for example a Google search or a Facebook post), and rough location and device type. It is not used inside lessons, tools, checkout or the Gig Ledger app, and it never sees what you type or save there.
Google Analytics sets cookies (named _ga) in your browser to tell a new visit from a return visit. Ad features and Google signals are turned off, and I don't use this data for advertising. I only see totals, never who you are.
Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. To opt out on every site, use Google's opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, or block cookies for this site in your browser.
On your device
- Lesson progress: your act name, crew names, ranks, skills, gig fund and checklists are saved in your browser's local storage on that device. I can't see them.
- Tools: what you type into the Invoice Maker, Setlist Maker and the other tools is saved on your device only.
- Gig Ledger app: your gigs, expenses, miles and receipt photos stay on your phone. If you use GPS mileage, your location is used on the phone to count miles and is not sent to me. Export a CSV to keep a copy or share it with your tax pro.
- Clearing your browser data deletes all of this. Nothing is backed up by me.
Cookies
Cookies are used for access only:
- tm_access: a signed code that says which tier you bought, tied to your Stripe checkout number.
- tm_free: a signed code that says which lesson you picked as your free one.
- tm_ui: a copy of the two above so the pages can show the right buttons.
When you sign in by email, a one-time code is kept on the server for 15 minutes, then deleted. The server also keeps a note that your access link was used, with a scrambled (hashed) version of your checkout email, so a forwarded link can't open your purchase for someone else.
No advertising or tracking cookies. The home page and free guides also set Google Analytics cookies (named _ga), described below.
Payment
Checkout happens on Stripe's own page. Stripe collects your card and email to process the payment and send your receipt. I never see or store your card number. I can see your name, email and what you bought in my Stripe account, and I use that only to support your purchase and handle refunds. Stripe's privacy policy: stripe.com/privacy.
I only have your email if you give it to me: at checkout, by emailing me, or by signing up on the site. If you sign up for emails, your name and email go to Sender (sender.net), the service that stores my list and sends the emails, and you can unsubscribe anytime. Sign-in emails for buyers go out through Sender too. Sender's privacy policy: sender.net/privacy-policy. I don't sell or rent email addresses.
Hosting and fonts
The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes basic request data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site. The pages load fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives a request from your browser when a page opens.
Questions or deletion
Email [email protected]. I'll tell you what I have (usually just your purchase in Stripe and any emails you sent) and delete what the law lets me delete. Purchase records may need to be kept for taxes.
This site is made for adults running a music business.
